The Road is Calling

The road race season in Michigan kicked off in April with Spring Training Series Races in Ann Arbor and Waterford and the Ciociaro Can Am Challenge Series in Windsor. Now that roadies are all warmed up, it's time to stretch their legs in some good old-fashioned road and criterium racing. In the coming weeks road cyclists can look forward to the Grattan Race Series kick-off, the Cone Azalia Classic road race, the Tour of Kensington Valley, the Priority Health Tour De Leelanau, the Tour De Gaslight Criterium and in June, a race that is quickly becoming a favorite among all racers, citizen and professional alike - The Superior Bike Fest in Marquette.

Going Clubbing

Get ready kids (and Dad's) Ann Arbor's most popular Father's Day event is back.

The Tour De Kids bike race is an Ann Arbor institution for children age 3 to 12 and their families. The corner f outh niversity and East niversity is the place to be on June 15 if you are looking for a great family event. The Tour De Kids is a day of bike races, crafts, face painting, games, music and fun, fun, fun. The race is open to all children including those with diabilities. All participants recieve a medal and winners receive a trophy.

In celebration of Father's Day, the Tour De Kids always includes a "Dad's Dash for Cash" race with dad's on tricycles racing on the same course their 3 year olds' traverse.

Presented this year by Ann Arbor-based software firm SpamStopsHere, proceeds fom the event will benefit the Hepatitis C Fund for research at the University of Michigan.

Registration for the race will be available soon at www.tourdekids.org. For specific questions about the race, e-mail tour_de_kids@yahoogroups.com.
