Fall is fast approaching and so is the cyclocross season! As many of you know, cyclocross is a great way to extend your riding season well into the cold weather months, not to mention its a ton of fun! The club would like to help introduce our members to cyclocross this fall by offering a series of “learn to cyclocross” clinics. But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, we would like to gauge the interest level among our members. If you think you would be interested in participating in these clinics, please respond to this posting. If we get a dozen or more folks to respond we will move forward with getting a location, instructors, and lining up some dates starting next month. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE RESPOND BY CLICKING ON THE “COMMENTS” LINK BELOW. Thanks!
We have moved the MCC Forums to a new location. This change will allow us to upgrade and maintain the forum software in a more timely fashion. What does this mean to anyone who has participated in the MCC Forums in the past? You will need to re-register your name at the new forum location and all of the old messages (threads) will not be carried forward to the new site!
Please visit the new MCC forums at http://www.macatawacyclingclub.com/mccforum/
Important Note: The above new address is .com versus .org (just for the forums not for the club website).
Thanks-
-Randy
P.S. - The old forums will stay online for a couple of weeks to allow members to read existing threads. All of the threads are locked, meaning you can not add to any existing discussions to create new discussions but you can
With a successful Holland Hundred behind us, the MCC leadership is going to take a couple of months break from organizing the monthly club meetings. We are encouraging all of the MCC membership to take advantage of the remaining summer months and go riding instead. We will resume monthly club meetings again in October with a new schedule of informative guest speakers. Take care and enjoy the summer bike riding.
Thanks to all of you who volunteered your time at yesterday’s Holland Hundred. Despite the weather, a record number of participants braved the rains around Holland and Allegan County. Our volunteers along with our event partners made this year’s tour memorable and enjoyable. Thanks so much for your hard work. Looking forward to seeing everyone on the next Monday Night Ride and Sweet Roll where we will celebrate our successful event and share some stories from yesterday. Take care.
We are still in desperate need of club volunteers for this Saturday’s Holland Hundred. More specifically, we need help with registering participants Saturday morning (starting at 6a.m.) and volunteers to man the registration deck and selling t-shirts during the rest of the day. Please step-up and help the club make this year’s event the best ever. Based on registration so far, we are expecting a record numbers of riders, so we need lots of help to make the event run smoothly.
As an added bonus, volunteers who help on the day of the event and give up riding the HH this year will be treated to a separate group ride later this summer/fall (such as the Colorburst tour), paid for by MCC, as a thank you for sacrificing your Holland Hundred.
Please send me an e-mail or respond to this posting by clicking on the comment link below if you can help. Thanks.
